i've applied to be reinstatement in a new city after attending meetings for a bit.
i wrote my letter and they heard my case.
they were very helpful.

They are following procedure to find out the real reason why you got kicked out, all the preliminaries that led to your exit.
These days is quite difficult to get booted out. They really try all avenues to provide help and not disfellowship; the person has to refuse all options and practically tell the body of elders they just do not want to be a JW anymore.
So, why would you want back in really?!

san francisco, california in an interesting case of religious rights in the workplace, the 9th circuit court of appeals has ruled that employees of the san gabriel/pomona regional center must attend services from the kingdom hall of the jehovahs witnesses.
the protestant church is not exactly known for its ecumenical cooperation or respect for the catholic church which it often decries as being a supreme object over the whole earth that rhymes with the word lore.. at issue is a five year dispute brought on by catholic employees who care for a disabled man at the facility.
Catholic dogma forbids attending worship at other churches.
Well now, I thought only JWs were forbidden to attend other religious services. Too sad that somebody in the cong would not make themselves available to take this person to the KH meetings. Love is surely lacking.

having recently been posting on a thread about ot moral values , which are not widely "appreciated " to say the least , i have been thinking about our modern morals about sex and reletionships , or more acurately the lack of any sexual morals todays .
i don't think that we are better off as a society which has gone so far to the do want you want , with whom you want and when you want approach to sexual ethics as we have .
i don't think that women are actually liberated by this attitude .

okay, this is going to be a bit of a general rant.
i had a long conversation with a jw elder recently about shunning and evolution.
i became qunite frustrated with the conversation and admitted this at the time.

Try to just live your life and stop trying to have conversations with anyone that has their mind set on whatever it is.
I am a JW in good standing, harbor a few disagreements about our practices. I don't argue or try to establish my point about it; just go about my life, living it on my terms.
This has worked for me and many inside for decades. Otherwise, it would be frustrating.

this is a true experience that i thought i would share, one that occurred just a few years ago in my area.
it is a real experience, nothing made up here.. a younger couple moved into our kh, into the joining congregation (so not ours, but the other one that shared our kh).
they seemed nice enough, they had one boy that was about 8, and a baby on the way.

How about sending the info anonymously to all, and even surrounding congs. This is super serious stuff!
Some years back a serious sinful practice was discovered by a brother. He then courageously gathered all the evidence and sent a copy to all families in mine and surrounding congs. Elders and many others were removed, some publicly reprimanded, etc. It took guts, but was worth it for the cleansing of the cong.
Over the years it is like a big mystery who brought it all to light. A brave soul for sure.
I subscribe to the fact that some things cannot be left up to God. He takes too damn long to settle scores. Child abuse is one of those things.

denial works it horrors on the needless suffering they cause their members.
denial about their god delusion, denial about their faulty policies, denial about children dying in vain over some stupid ban on blood.
if it is one thing the governing body do best it's denial, and denial is a killer in their case and the death toll will keep rising until they can face the facts, instead of pushing them away with denial.. yes they hear but only with annoyance any facts about their biblical interpetation as being wrong and delusional, because the stakes are high; their position as corporation ceos, a better future for their followers, the future of the corporation they are running, i'm surprised that none of them hasn't attempted suicide over the dilemma they are in over this denial thing, surely some must see the 'writing on the wall' so to speak?.

Expulsion and the non-use of blood have both biblical support, in both Old and New Testament. The GB can stand firm on their resolve all they want.
They have watered it down enough by allowing blood fractions to used by the weaklings. I am sure they are working out some sort of watered down version as well on the disfellowshipping doctrine.
This is an ever evolving Org. I somewhat enjoy the roller coaster throughout the years. Gotta love it!

i did roving microphones this week, and i counted 43 people (variety of ages) out of an audience of 98!.

There have been protesters at some big conventions, but they all as a group look terribly clothed, disheveled, and sooo mad!
There was one a couple of years ago that dared go inside and cause a scene, but the brothers just formed a wall and started walking towards this individual, forcing him to walk outside where he was met by the cops and detained for public disruption. It was so comical the whole thing.

i ask you to consider this scenario:.
a devoutly born-again christian man, who strives to live every facet of his life in accordance with what is written in the gospels, spends all of his time helping the poor, reading his bible cover-to-cover, living an austere life and genuinely feels that his life is motivated by his love of christ.
a real christian in practice, both public and private.
I believe only God, who knows hearts and minds, can only answer that with accuracy. This is why is not good practice to discount or look down on anyone.
We as JWs do our proselytism as we believe, but God shall provide answers to this and many other unanswered questions by mankind.
